How to use sandpaper

Proper use of sandpaper will give you a smooth, smooth surface that can be used for paint or stains, and improper use can make your wood full of scratches. Choosing the right sandpaper for your project and learning the right techniques for sanding surfaces will help you make beautiful finished products.

Buy the best abrasive for your project. Sandpaper has different materials. Each material is suitable for a particular type of sanding. Your choice is: garnet. Garnet is the 1 natural abrasive used for sanding any bare wood. Garnet is versatile, but it will be faster than other sandpapers. Silicon Carbide. Silicon carbide is best used for sanding joints (coarse mixing is used to whitewash seam walls) and to get rid of dust, trapped spots in your wood lacquer.  aluminum  oxide. Aluminum oxide can be used to powder wood, metal and paint. It is more than silicon carbide, but it lasts longer.

Divide your sandpaper into three different grades. There are three grades of sandpaper: coarse, medium and fine. The grade of sandpaper is measured with sandpaper. The higher the grit of the sandpaper, the higher the smoothness of the sandpaper surface. Check the packaging, sandpaper comes in to see what its grit is. Buy sheets of every 1 grade for your project. The coarse sandpaper has 40 to 80 grit. 80-grain sandpaper should be rough enough, unless your surface has obvious defects, otherwise you will be polished. Medium sandpaper has 100 to 150 grit. Fine sandpaper has 180 to 220 grit. 220 sandpaper should be fine enough for your project, but have higher grits if you want a smooth finish.

Use open coating for durability or closed coating for strength. The closed sandpaper completely covers the grain, which means it is a stronger abrasive. The open sandpaper has less particles on it, so the effect is not very good, but the extra space on the bed sheet prevents accumulation, which makes it more durable. Sand the harder surface with closed sandpaper and sand the softer surface.

Use sand blocks for better and faster results. A sanding block is a block that you surround with sandpaper. 

A polished brick can be anything-a piece of foam, a piece of wood, or a piece of cork.

 Use sandpaper to enclose your sandpaper block, sand side out, and fix with staples or glue. 

If you don't want to produce it yourself, you can also buy a sanding block at your local hardware store.
